Was the CD/DVD writer drive built into the computer when you purchased
it? : yes
problem description : Several weeks ago I started to have a problem
connecting to a wifi network. The card seemed to suddenly dissappear, it
was no longer visible to windows. No matter what i did it was no longer
there anymore. I have no more warranty and since i dont use wifi very
often, it wasnt a big issue.

But now I have a bigger issue. The entire laptop has died. I was using
the past weekend, i walked away for 15 minutes, came back to a dead
screen. The lights were on, but the screen was blank, no activity from
the harddisk, nothing. I turned off by holding power
for 5 seconds, and turned back on. The lights come on (power, volume
+/-, battery charge indiciator, etc) But the screen stays blan, and the
laptop does not even try to boot up since there is NO hard disk
activity. The laptop does noth9ing. No beeps, nothing.

I have searched and now find that this problem is a common occurance and
that you even have a recall or a different series of laptop with THESE
EXACT ISSUES!.
troubleshooting : I can link hundreds of other posts that show many
other people have the same issues as the dvseries recall. I expect you
to do a ree repeir on my laptop since it falls under the same problem
domain as the dv recall. I will link here so you know the exact sysptoms
of problem:
