I have a tx1120us laptop, which I purchased July 2007. Unfortunately It is dead. However it didn't just die because of regular usage. It died because of a defect that has plagued many other compaq/hp products which resulted in those lines being given a limited extended warranty. Please see these links:
The symptoms of the laptop's death and current state are the exact same symptoms.
However. I AM NOT THE ONLY OWNER OF A TX MODEL LATOP WITH THESE ISSUES! There are MANY others with the TX line that have this issue, and we all DEMAND AN EXTENSION to the warranty that was given to the other lines. Please see this thread on your own forums to see how many others have reported this with the TX series:
And as you must know this represents only a small fraction of those with this problem. How many have gone unreported? Or called and been denied the service? Been disappointed with HP yet again?
And to think this is my SECOND laptop to suffer this. I also own a compaq v3000 series which has already went into service for this issue. I am not unknown to it.
For goodness sakes, own up to the shortcomings of yet another model and honour those of us some extended service. I for one am at the point where I have lost all faith with HP and its canned support, and will probably never purchase HP nor ever recommend HP to any of my clients ever again.
I have been in touch with many other TX series owners whom have this problem and we will make sure we are heard.
Sincerely,
Matthew Lanteigne
